The PLC & Automation Supervisor is an onsite role based in Duluth, MN. Compensation is not specified for this position, which supports the Custom Equipment Programming Group (CEPG) at Marvin, a leading window and door manufacturer. This role exists to provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise for the Controls team. The supervisor will mentor technicians, manage project timelines, and integrate advanced automated manufacturing equipment to improve operational efficiency.

What you'll do

• Provide direction for the Controls group while continuing to execute controls work, collaborating with Automation Systems, Maintenance, Information Systems, and Operations.
• Support team leadership activities, including interviewing candidates, training employees, planning work, balancing workloads, delegating assignments, evaluating work, addressing concerns, and resolving problems.
• Research, analyze, install, and test automation control systems to improve machine efficiency, advance existing systems, and support current and future production demands.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and programming-related equipment and facility issues.
• Manage projects and timelines through successful completion or resolution while maintaining feedback loops and providing end-user training.
• Serve as a liaison with vendors to ensure new and modified equipment, control panels, wiring schematics, components, and electrical practices align with Marvin specifications and procedures.
