Working under the building principal and with direct supervision from special education teachers, the paraprofessional assists students’ educational and social development. The role supports implementation of Individual Education Plans, student progress, classroom learning, and the development of appropriate social skills.

What you'll do

• Assist with students’ educational and social development under teacher direction
• help implement Individual Education Plans and monitor progress
• support students inside and outside the classroom
• collaborate with speech therapists, social workers, and occupational and physical therapists
• help maintain student records
• support students with behavior concerns and social skills
• prepare and display student work and prepare materials.
