The Registered Nurse (RN) - Med-Surg / Tele role is onsite in East Orange, NJ, with a stated pay range of $32–$45.50 per hour. This is a future opportunity supporting a medical-surgical unit for the VA New Jersey Health Care System. The RN provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical conditions, injuries, and post-operative needs. Through assessment, care planning, treatment, education, and coordination, the role supports patient safety and quality outcomes in an acute care environment.

What you'll do

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
• document patient assessments
• administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies
• monitor patient conditions and report significant changes
• develop and update care plans
• coordinate care with physicians and other team members
• provide pre- and post-operative care as appropriate
• educate patients and families
• maintain medical records
• follow infection control, safety, and quality standards
• respond to emergencies
• delegate tasks within scope of practice
• participate in rounds and care conferences.
