Principal Engineer – Software Infrastructure

The Principal Engineer – Software Infrastructure role is onsite in Oshkosh, WI; compensation is not specified. The position develops and maintains toolsets that support embedded vehicle software development. The role exists to provide a secure, reliable software development environment and associated tools, from application migration and virtual machine automation to CI/CD pipelines and Python applications. It also contributes through technical planning, project delivery, engineering standards, and guidance for less experienced engineers.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain toolsets for embedded vehicle software. Plan and execute migration of on-premises applications from Windows to Docker containers on Red Hat Linux
• automate virtual machine creation
• develop middleware and Python web-based and desktop GUI applications. Support DevSec environments, CI/CD pipelines, software assurance tools, and software build systems. Design, implement, document, and support software
• prepare plans and reports
• collaborate with internal teams and suppliers
• conduct research and development
• provide technical guidance and mentorship
• contribute to estimates, proposals, and project planning.
