What you'll do

• Prepare and portion food for regular and therapeutic diets, meals, snacks, employees, and special events
• follow food-handling and safety procedures and standardized recipes
• serve food attractively and at proper temperatures
• deliver meals on schedule and follow diet orders and preferences
• record food and refrigerator/freezer temperatures
• wash dishes and maintain a clean, safe work area
• store and label food properly
• assist with receiving and storing supplies
• report stock or equipment issues
• work cooperatively with nursing-center departments and interact appropriately with residents, families, and visitors.
