Direct Support Professional — Residence Counselor

The Direct Support Professional role is onsite in Fayetteville, NY. Pay is $17.60–$17.80 per hour. The position supports consumers in Menorah Park Group Residences under the direction of the Director of Menorah Park Group Residences. The Residence Counselor helps consumers follow service plans and pursue their highest possible level of independence. The role provides personal care, daily living assistance, emotional support, medication support, documentation, and collaboration with families and care teams in a respectful residential environment.

What you'll do

• Support personal hygiene, communication, interpersonal activities, and leisure activities
• assist with therapeutic activities and service-plan goals
• accompany and transport individuals on shopping and recreation trips, with personal-vehicle transportation possibly required on occasion
• assist with meal preparation, feeding, and dietary documentation
• administer, supervise, or monitor prescribed medications
• observe and report changes in condition
• document care, medication administration, performance, and behaviors
• provide companionship and emotional support
• follow infection-control and safety procedures
• assist with housekeeping, linens, and laundry
• collaborate with coworkers, management, medical staff, families, counselors, and coaches.
