The Computed Tomography Technologist role is an onsite, full-time position in Barrington, IL. Compensation is not specified; eligible external candidates may receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The role supports Advocate Health’s imaging services and patient care. Under a radiologist’s direction, the technologist performs CT procedures, selects and adjusts technical factors, and helps produce diagnostic images for interpretation. The work includes patient positioning and instruction, contrast injection under supervision, radiation protection, quality checks, documentation, and support for department procedures; the schedule includes rotating shifts, weekends, call, and holidays.

What you'll do

• Perform CT procedures and produce scans
• position and immobilize patients
• select technical factors
• explain procedures and positioning
• manage exam charges and procedure files in the HIS/RIS system
• verify procedures sent to PACS
• perform 3-D reconstruction and CT angiography
• inject contrast under radiologist supervision
• follow radiation safety standards
• maintain records and CT suite
• perform and document quality control
• complete assigned CQI projects and in-services.
