The Journeyman Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician role is onsite in Elko, NV, paying $35–$50 per hour, plus overtime, on-call pay, and bonuses. Ruby Mountain HVAC-R provides maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and installations for commercial and industrial facilities across Northern Nevada. The technician handles field service for commercial and light industrial refrigeration systems, helping keep customer equipment operating through diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and installations. The role also supports small-job scoping and quoting and may include mentoring apprentice-level technicians.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, supermarket rack systems, and commercial cold-storage equipment
• perform mechanical and electrical diagnostics, refrigerant recovery, evacuation, leak testing, brazing, and component replacement
• respond to scheduled maintenance, emergency breakdowns, and installation calls across Northern Nevada
• assist with small repair quotes and technical guidance for newer technicians
• maintain job-site documentation, digital work orders, and van inventory.
