What you'll do

• Room patients and document medications, vital signs, and visit reasons
• enter information into the electronic medical record
• assist with procedures and examinations
• collect specimens and perform routine laboratory tests and EKGs
• explain treatment instructions
• sterilize instruments and maintain exam rooms and supplies
• answer phones and schedule appointments
• schedule and pre-authorize surgeries and preoperative appointments
• coordinate procedures with patients and the operating room
• maintain billing and insurance notes
• verify benefits and obtain authorizations
• generate referrals
• coordinate rescheduling and cancellations.
