The Precision CNC Manufacturing Specialist role is onsite in Trenton and Taylor, MI. Pay is $19.25–$24.00 per hour, with a $1.00-per-hour night premium. The role supports Steel Tool & Engineering Co.’s aerospace precision machining and fabrication work. The specialist transforms raw stock into precision aerospace components by setting up, programming, and operating CNC equipment and controlling processes to meet tolerance and quality requirements. The work contributes to production and prototype delivery while supporting safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate CNC horizontal lathes, VTLs, mills, and 5-axis platforms for production and prototypes
• program and edit with Mastercam and refine G-code and toolpaths
• load materials and configure machine parameters, offsets, and operations
• identify nonconforming conditions and take corrective action
• use CMM data and apply tool-wear offsets
• fabricate simple tooling, fixtures, and custom jaws
• interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
• troubleshoot programs, tool wear, and machining issues
• perform routine maintenance and maintain a safe, organized work area
• collaborate with supervisors and support and mentor junior operators.
