Radiation Control Technician

Job overview

The Radiation Control Technician role is onsite in Oak Ridge, TN, with compensation of $25–$35 per hour. Napakiak Environmental and Construction provides environmental, construction, and technology services for federal and commercial projects; this role supports a client’s Radiation Protection Group. The technician performs radiological monitoring and protection work to help implement the Radiation Protection Program and maintain safe, compliant work conditions. The role includes surveys, sample analysis, work planning, customer support, and response to radiological incidents and emergencies.

What you'll do

• Perform radiological surveys and collect and analyze samples from laboratory, construction, remediation, and other work areas
• prepare related documents, reports, and audits
• conduct release surveys
• advise customers and assist with radiological protection planning
• evaluate conditions and support work authorizations, plans, controls, and waste management
• post and label controlled areas and items
• conduct assessments, audits, and investigations
• respond to contaminated personnel or areas and radiological incidents and emergencies
• plan radiological work activities.
