The Academic Tutor & Mentor (Entry Level, Full-Time) is an onsite role based in Marina Del Rey, CA. Compensation is not specified for this position, which supports the City Year AmeriCorps program in helping students succeed across schools. This role exists to provide coaching and mentoring to elementary, middle, and high school students. By working with partner teachers and school staff, the mentor helps students improve attendance, develop positive behaviors, and achieve academic success through 1:1 and small group support.

What you'll do

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups
• Develop literacy and/or math skills
• Create and implement a behavior management system
• Develop interpersonal skills
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress
• Support whole school initiatives
• Conduct extended day and virtual programming
• Lead events recognizing student growth.
