The Thermal Spray Technician / Welder is an onsite, full-time role in Kimmell, IN. Compensation is $20–$30 per hour. The position supports Boyd Machine & Repair’s manufacturing operations through thermal spray coating work. The role prepares components, operates coating equipment, and inspects finished parts to meet specified quality and performance requirements. Accurate production records, safe work practices, and coordination with production and quality colleagues help maintain manufacturing goals.

What you'll do

• Prepare parts and surfaces through cleaning, masking, grit blasting, and related work
• set up and operate thermal spray equipment according to job specifications
• apply coatings to dimensional, performance, and appearance standards
• inspect coating quality, coverage, thickness, and adherence
• follow work instructions and inspection criteria
• monitor equipment and report issues or process deviations
• maintain a clean and safe work area
• document production and inspection results
• collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel.

Why this role

Experience in thermal spray, coating application, machining, manufacturing, or related industrial work is a plus. HVOF, plasma, arc spray, flame spray, surface preparation, and inspection-tool experience are preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; training and development opportunities are offered.
