Portal Billing Specialist

The Portal Billing Specialist role is onsite in Charlotte, NC, with compensation of $23–$25 per hour. The position supports the client’s Accounts Receivable team in an industrial distribution and shared services environment. The specialist manages customer invoices through online billing portals from submission through payment follow-up. By resolving billing issues, maintaining account records, and coordinating with customers and internal teams, the role helps improve payment performance and reduce delays.

What you'll do

• Process and submit invoices, credit memos, and supporting documents through customer billing portals
• manage assigned customer accounts through billing and payment
• monitor invoice status and research rejected or delayed submissions
• investigate billing discrepancies, purchase order issues, pricing concerns, freight variances, and payment obstacles
• communicate with customers about invoice status, balances, and billing requirements
• partner with Sales, Customer Service, and Collections
• document account activity and customer interactions
• prioritize high-volume invoice follow-up
• use online billing platforms and internal systems
• recommend billing process improvements.
