Accountant

Job overview

The Accountant works onsite in New Orleans, LA. Compensation is $50,000–$80,000 per year. The role supports Durr Heavy Construction’s accounts payable, job costing, general ledger, payroll, and financial close work. By processing invoices and payments accurately and maintaining reliable records, the Accountant supports project cost tracking and financial reporting. The role works with project managers, operations, vendors, subcontractors, and the accounting team to resolve discrepancies and meet accounting deadlines.

What you'll do

• Process and track vendor and subcontractor invoices
• verify supporting documents, approvals, and job cost codes
• investigate discrepancies
• maintain vendor records and required documents
• prepare payment runs
• respond to payment inquiries
• reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable balances
• support audits and month-end close
• prepare journal entries and reconcile assigned general ledger and bank accounts
• assist with payroll and benefits tasks when assigned.
