The Registered Nurse (RN), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) role is onsite in Syracuse, NY, with Monday–Friday shifts of 10:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. or 1:00–9:30 p.m. Pay is $36–$50 per hour, and the posting offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The nurse supports the Specialists One Day Surgery Center’s orthopedic surgery patients. The role provides preoperative preparation and immediate postoperative care in an outpatient surgical setting. The nurse monitors recovery, supports safe and efficient case flow, and helps patients understand discharge instructions while collaborating with the anesthesia and perioperative teams.

What you'll do

• Assess patients before surgery, including medical history, medication reconciliation, and surgical readiness
• prepare patients with IV initiation, pre-op medications, education, and consent verification
• monitor recovery and provide post-anesthesia care
• provide discharge teaching
• make pre- and post-op calls as needed
• collaborate with anesthesia and perioperative staff
• use procedural equipment safely
• maintain a safe care environment.
