Senior Cloud Security Engineer

The Senior Cloud Security Engineer role is hybrid in Mechanicsville, VA, for an eight-month duration. Compensation is not specified. The engineer supports an agency’s cloud and computing infrastructure and enterprise Azure migration. The role exists to architect, implement, secure, monitor, and continuously improve enterprise cloud environments. It provides senior technical leadership across cloud security architecture, identity and access management, network security, monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and governance, working with engineering, operations, architecture, application, risk, and IT teams.

What you'll do

• Identify cloud security vulnerabilities, assess and prioritize risk, track remediation, and validate corrective actions
• lead cloud security initiatives and guide engineers
• design secure cloud architecture and security gates for deployment pipelines
• explain risks to nontechnical stakeholders
• maintain security documentation and audit evidence
• review proposed cloud solutions and define controls
• develop Azure policies and automation runbooks
• monitor SIEM events and coordinate incident response with the SOC
• investigate and contain cloud security incidents
• review firewall and NSG requests
• provide architecture diagrams, IP schemes, and access-control documentation.
