Infrastructure Engineer — Storage and Data Protection

The Infrastructure Engineer — Storage and Data Protection role is onsite in Manassas, VA, with compensation of $85,000–$92,000 per year. The engineer supports enterprise storage services in a production environment at Virtual Service Operations, a hybrid cloud and managed services consulting firm. The role maintains reliable, performant storage and data protection services through incident response, provisioning, maintenance, backup and restore support, and documentation. Following established standards and escalating complex architecture decisions helps sustain production operations and improve service quality.

What you'll do

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve storage incidents affecting performance, capacity, connectivity, and availability
• administer in-scope storage platforms including NetApp, Pure, Infinidat, Nimble, and VMware vSAN
• perform health checks, capacity management, performance trending, and common-alert remediation
• execute approved provisioning, resizing, reclamation, and lifecycle changes
• fulfill storage requests and document validation
• support backup, restore, replication, and restore testing
• assist with disaster recovery readiness and runbooks as assigned
• participate in planned maintenance and upgrades
• coordinate vendor support cases and hardware lifecycle activities
• maintain and improve operational documentation and monitoring.
