CNC Machinist/Programmer — Prototype & Defense Machining

Job overview

The CNC Machinist/Programmer role is onsite in Saint Clair, MI, with compensation of $30–$40 per hour. Centracore is a precision machining shop focused on rapid prototypes and low-volume, high-mix work, including aerospace- and defense-related parts. This hands-on role takes parts from models or drawings through CAM programming, machine setup, prove-out, and first-article verification. It supports the shop’s machining work and growing turning capability through programming, machining, and collaboration with the Lead Engineer.

What you'll do

• Develop machining approaches from 3D models and 2D drawings
• create and improve CAM programs
• troubleshoot programs, tool paths, and dimensional issues
• set up CNC machines and tooling
• run test cuts, prove-outs, and first articles
• operate a Bridgeport mill
• support and train operators on program intent and setups
• contribute to workholding, tooling, and cutting-strategy decisions.
