The Assistant Teacher role is onsite in Kensett, AR. Compensation varies by education and experience: $15.00–$18.30 per hour with a CDA, $17.00–$20.74 with an associate’s degree, or $19.00–$23.18 with a bachelor’s degree. The position supports the Community Action Program for Central Arkansas’s early childhood program. The assistant teacher helps create a safe, nurturing classroom that supports children’s growth and development. The role assists teachers with individualized activities, child observation, family engagement, and daily classroom operations.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED and a Child Development Associate credential with Preschool Endorsement; enrollment in an eligible credential or early childhood degree program may be accepted in lieu of a current CDA. The role is budgeted for 10 months per year, with hours of 7:30–3:30 while children are present and 7:30–4:00 otherwise, including a 30-minute lunch break.
