The Flight Dynamics Engineer role is based onsite at Merlin’s headquarters in Boston, MA. The salary range is $130,000–$175,000 per year. The engineer supports Merlin’s aircraft autonomy platform by developing and integrating aircraft models for its simulation environment. The role builds and refines reusable aircraft models and supports flight-test planning, data analysis, and simulation improvements. This work enables autonomy development, system integration, and validation across multiple aircraft platforms.

What you'll do

• Develop, improve, and update aircraft models simulating aerodynamics, control systems, servos, brakes, and landing gear
• support flight-test planning, instrumentation requirements, and test-data analysis
• write software to improve the simulation
• collaborate with virtual test environment users
• support expansion of the virtual test environment.

Why this role
