Adult Small Bowel Transplant Dietitian is an onsite position in Savage, MD, with a salary range of $60,632.00 - $107,494.00 per year. MedStar Health is a healthcare system dedicated to patient care. Provides comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy to inpatients with a variety of medical conditions, including performing malnutrition assessments, nutrition-focused physical exams, diet education, and providing nutrition support recommendations.

What you'll do

• Consults with and/or makes recommendations to physicians and other allied health professionals regarding patients' nutritional statuses, nutrient needs, or specific diet plans.
• Formulates nutrition assessment, evaluation, and follow-up plans for patients at nutrition risk.
• Recommends and documents patient's nutrition treatment findings and plan in the patients' medical record.
• Participates in clinical rounds and appropriate department/service meetings.
• Consults in/outpatients in diet rationale for self-management.
• Must be flexible to cross-cover and train in all areas including Neonatal ICU and Pediatrics as needed.
• Provides staff relief and cross-coverage as delegated for in/outpatient services.
• Reviews at least one annual review of literature pertinent to area(s) of responsibility and presents to peers in Journal Club.
• Performs at least one formal professional presentation in an area of specialty.
• Attends pertinent meetings to enhance clinical practice.
• Maintains current CDR credentials and DC Licensure and completes yearly competencies.
• Holds current membership to professional organization pertinent to the role.
• Participates in licensing surveys as needed.
• Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and area.

What we're looking for

Education

Bachelor's degree B.S with a major in Food & Nutrition Science from an accredited college or university and the completion of an accredited dietetic internship (RDE will be considered) required and Master's degree Master's degree from an accredited college or university if completed after Jan 1 2024. required

Experience

1-2 years One year of general clinical nutrition experience preferred (RDE will be considered).
