What you'll do

• Perform abrasive blasting and surface preparation on shipboard and structural surfaces
• prepare metal for coatings and paint
• remove rust, scale, old coatings, and other contaminants
• operate blasting and surface-preparation equipment
• perform painting and coating duties as assigned
• inspect prepared surfaces before coating
• maintain equipment safely
• use required PPE
• keep the work area clean and safe
• follow safety and environmental procedures
• work in assigned shipyard areas and assist the Paint Department with other tasks as required.
