The Director, Clinical Business Operations role is onsite in South San Francisco, CA, with an annual salary range of $222,000–$271,000 and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. The director partners with the Head of Clinical Operations and supports Maze Therapeutics’ Clinical Development organization. Maze is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing precision medicines for patients with kidney and metabolic diseases. The role provides financial and operational leadership for clinical development programs, including budgets, forecasting, vendor financial management, and contracting. It builds scalable processes and financial visibility to support efficient clinical trial execution and informed portfolio decisions.

What you'll do

• Advise the Head of Clinical Operations and Clinical Development leaders
• develop scalable processes, governance, and budgeting standards
• oversee study budgets, forecasts, vendor financial management, and financial reporting
• collaborate with Finance on accruals, forecasts, operating plans, and long-range planning
• monitor financial performance and mitigate variances
• prepare executive analyses and dashboards
• facilitate CRO, vendor, and site budget negotiations and support service agreements with Legal
• establish vendor financial governance and performance metrics
• support invoice review and reconciliation. Occasional travel may be required for vendor relationships.
