Cost Accounting Manager

The Cost Accounting Manager works onsite in Los Angeles, CA. The base salary range is $110,000–$155,000 per year, plus company equity. K2 Space builds high-power satellite platforms for commercial and U.S. government missions; this role reports to the Head of Finance & Accounting. The manager supports financial leadership across manufacturing operations by improving cost visibility, financial controls, and data-driven decisions. The role partners with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Product Management on product costing, overhead allocation, variance analysis, budgets, forecasts, and cost models.

What you'll do

• Partner with manufacturing operations on cost performance, efficiency, and profitability
• analyze production volume, capacity utilization, labor efficiency, and make-or-buy decisions
• support product costing, bills of material, labor standards, overhead application, and variance analysis
• manage overhead pools, allocation bases, and rates
• support overhead rate setting and true-ups
• assist with manufacturing budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans
• prepare cost models for product introductions, pricing decisions, and program bids.
