CNC Setup Technician — Swing Shift

The CNC Setup Technician — Swing Shift is an onsite, full-time position in Post Falls, Idaho. Pay is $18–$22 per hour. Buck Knives manufactures knives, and this role prepares CNC machines for accurate, efficient production. The technician sets up and operates CNC equipment, verifies first-run parts, and supports consistent manufacturing quality. The work includes selecting and installing tooling, loading programs, setting offsets, inspecting parts, troubleshooting setup issues, and coordinating machine handoffs with operators.

What you'll do

• Interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and schedules
• select and install cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding
• manage tooling checkout and returns
• log setup, changeover, and downtime
• load CNC programs and set machine parameters and offsets
• perform test runs and first-part inspections
• adjust equipment to meet specifications
• inspect parts with precision measurement tools
• troubleshoot setup issues
• coordinate setup-to-production handoffs
• operate machines as needed
• update setup sheets
• maintain a clean setup area and follow safety procedures.
