The Director of Human Resources & People Operations role is onsite five days per week in San Francisco, CA. Base salary is $212,000–$267,000 per year, plus equity. The role supports a fast-growing, venture-backed AI company as it expands its U.S. team. As the company’s first dedicated U.S. People Operations leader, this director builds HR infrastructure and owns the employee experience. The role advises executives, establishes scalable people practices, and oversees compliance and workplace operations to support organizational growth.

What you'll do

• Develop HR policies, systems, and processes
• advise executives on organizational planning, employee relations, performance, and retention
• build onboarding and employee lifecycle practices
• manage U.S. HR operations, benefits coordination, and California and federal employment compliance
• lead engagement initiatives and company events
• oversee facilities, vendors, and office operations
• adapt people practices as the technology organization grows.
