Packaging Engineer

The Packaging Engineer role is onsite in Itasca, IL. Compensation is $70,000–$80,000 per year. Systematics designs and produces custom retail marketing solutions, including displays, signage, fixtures, and kiosks. The role develops and validates corrugate packaging and point-of-purchase displays that meet functional, aesthetic, and cost requirements. Working with senior engineers, sales, suppliers, and manufacturing teams, the engineer turns customer needs into manufacturable designs and supports testing, documentation, and design improvements.

What you'll do

• Design corrugate packaging structures and retail displays using Eng View and AutoCAD
• create structural design packages, specifications, die lines, and assembly drawings
• build prototypes and samples
• support compression, drop, and vibration testing against ISTA or ASTM standards
• collaborate with Business Development on customer requirements
• coordinate with suppliers and converting plants
• troubleshoot existing designs
• maintain design files and documentation
• assist with cost estimating and material optimization.
