Optical Test Engineer – Camera and Imaging Systems

The Optical Test Engineer – Camera and Imaging Systems role is onsite in North Reading, MA; compensation is $100,000–$150,000 per year. The engineer works with hardware, firmware, and algorithm teams to validate imaging systems in a hands-on lab environment. The role builds and modifies test fixtures, executes manual and regression tests, and documents results and defects. Optical testing includes camera and sensor bring-up, image-quality analysis, focusing, calibration, alignment, and characterization of imaging performance; the engineer also collaborates with teams to debug issues and refine test approaches as requirements evolve.

What you'll do

• Build and modify test fixtures and lab setups
• execute manual, validation, and regression tests
• configure and troubleshoot devices under test
• document procedures, results, defects, and summaries
• test camera and optical systems
• capture and analyze image and sensor data
• evaluate image quality
• focus, calibrate, and align camera sensors and optical assemblies
• collaborate on debugging and test-process improvements.

Why this role
