Lead Stress Engineer (Aerospace)

The Lead Stress Engineer is an onsite role based in Dayton, IN, with a salary range of $115,700 to $150,500 per year. This position supports the manufacturing of the T-7A Redhawk military trainer aircraft for the United States Air Force within the engineering department. The role exists to bridge the gap between engineering design and production, ensuring structural integrity through static and damage tolerance analysis while facilitating communication between manufacturing, quality, and design teams to resolve production issues.

What you'll do

• Perform static and DaDT structural analyses of metallic and composite airframe structures
• develop designs meeting program requirements for weight, cost, and quality
• utilize FEA, 3DX, and Catia V5 for load distribution and optimization
• disposition non-conforming conditions
• act as the primary liaison between design engineering and manufacturing
• interpret technical drawings to resolve production concerns
• provide real-time support to assembly teams
• investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
