The Mechanical Drafter / Designer role is onsite in Manvel, TX, with compensation of $30–$35 per hour. The position supports Alatas Americas’ Engineering team in developing safe, cost-effective, manufacturable solutions. The role turns engineering challenges into mechanical layouts, 3D models, production drawings, and technical documentation. It also supports product development, repair and reverse-engineering work, and technical input for bids and proposals.

What you'll do

• Create mechanical designs, equipment layouts, 3D models, and production drawings using SolidWorks
• design and document parts and assemblies
• prepare test procedures and technical documentation
• collect field measurements for reverse engineering and repair projects
• contribute to product development and production improvements
• provide technical input for bids and proposals
• collaborate with engineers, technicians, fabricators, and skilled trades.

Why this role

Requires at least four years of SolidWorks 3D modeling, 2D manufacturing drawing, and structural design/layout experience; knowledge of GD&T to ANSI/ASME Y14.5 and welding design or substantial heavy structural design experience.
