The Security Engineer – GRC Frameworks & AI Governance role is onsite in Palo Alto, CA, with compensation of $100,000–$198,000 per year. SpaceXSI is building a super-intelligence stack, including computing infrastructure, models, and applications, as part of its mission to help humanity understand the universe. The engineer designs and implements security and AI governance controls and automates compliance so teams can develop and deploy safely. The role embeds continuous assurance into engineering workflows and coordinates across engineering, legal, product, leadership, auditors, and regulators to keep AI systems audit-ready.

What you'll do

• Implement and audit controls across SOC 2, NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, and the EU AI Act
• build compliance-as-code and continuous evidence capabilities
• operate and integrate GRC platforms
• embed requirements in design reviews and engineering workflows
• maintain policies and standards
• assess AI, cybersecurity, privacy, intellectual property, and cloud risks
• review products, model deployments, features, and architecture changes
• coordinate with auditors, assessors, and regulators
• educate teams on security and compliance.
