Job overview

The Project Engineer – Commercial Mechanical Construction role is onsite in Baltimore, MD. Compensation is $70,000–$80,000 per year, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role supports project management for a mechanical contracting and construction company serving commercial, industrial, institutional, government, utility, and energy-sector clients. The engineer coordinates project documentation, schedules, costs, submittals, change orders, permits, and communication among project teams. The role helps monitor progress, safety, quality, and compliance and assists with problem-solving to support timely project completion within budget and specifications.

What you'll do

  • Assist project managers with plans, schedules, budgets, and resource planning
  • prepare cost breakdowns, schedules of values, reports, and submittals
  • coordinate meetings and project documentation
  • monitor project team activities, schedules, budgets, equipment, and tools
  • assist with change orders, permits, purchase orders, and material requisitions
  • inspect work sites for safety and cleanliness
  • support problem resolution and project closeout.
