Utility Pole Auditor — Field-Based

The Utility Pole Auditor role is onsite and field-based, with listed locations in Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Lansing, MI, and statewide Michigan field work. Compensation is $18–$20 per hour, plus a $35 daily meal per diem when at least six productive hours are worked. Davey Resource Group’s utility asset management work supports electric utility and communications infrastructure. The auditor inspects utility poles and related equipment, records field observations, and helps maintain accurate infrastructure data. The role contributes to project targets and infrastructure support through safe, precise field audits conducted independently or with a partner.

What you'll do

• Visually inspect utility poles, attachments, wiring, and equipment
• record observations using handheld computers, GPS, cameras, and mobile applications
• navigate field sites
• coordinate scheduling and coverage independently or in pairs
• communicate with property owners and local agencies about access
• follow safety procedures
• travel 75%–100% for field duties.
