The assistant director translates the Director’s direction into programs, workstreams, and recommendations, and may act for the Director when assigned or during an absence. The role supports reliable property operations through maintenance governance, compliance, capital planning, project coordination, and team leadership.

What you'll do

• Assist with day-to-day engineering operations, priorities, standards, and controls
• lead delegated managers, supervisors, technical leaders, and programs
• support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance governance
• assist with fire and life-safety, emergency, permit, inspection, and regulatory programs
• contribute to asset-condition reviews and capital planning
• coordinate delegated projects, shutdowns, and commissioning
• assist with budgets, forecasting, purchasing controls, and variance analysis
• support procurement and contract administration
• analyze utility, asset, BAS, work-order, and KPI data
• support staff development and prepare reports and recommendations. Availability to support significant property emergencies is required.
