Job overview

The Barista role is onsite in Washington, DC, with starting pay of $18.95 per hour plus tips averaging approximately $6–$10 per shift hour. Blue Bottle Coffee’s mission is to connect the world to delicious coffee and support a sustainable future. This role prepares and serves beverages and food while creating welcoming guest experiences and helping maintain cafe operations. Through hospitality, product knowledge, quality checks, and attention to safety and sustainability, the Barista supports the cafe team and Blue Bottle’s coffee standards.

What you'll do

• Deliver hospitality to guests, teammates, vendors, and suppliers
• prepare and serve beverages and food
• maintain knowledge of offerings and preparation methods
• taste beverages to uphold quality
• share coffee knowledge with guests
• help with cafe cleaning and upkeep
• follow health, food safety, and safety guidelines
• complete Blue Bottle Academy training and 90-day validation.
