Flight Software Engineer

The Flight Software Engineer role is onsite in El Segundo, CA. The stated annual base salary range is $120,000–$150,000. Space Kinetic is developing a new space-operations architecture intended to enable multiple payloads to be deployed from host spacecraft. The engineer designs, develops, tests, and maintains embedded software that controls spacecraft. The role integrates and validates software across simulation and flight environments and collaborates with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable mission-critical systems, including support for commissioning, flight operations, anomalies, and software updates after launch.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded spacecraft flight software
• integrate and validate software in simulation, flight-replica, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight environments
• collaborate with systems, electrical, GNC, test, and mission engineering teams
• support commissioning, flight operations, anomaly resolution, and post-launch software updates.
