The Registered Nurse, Obstetric Emergency Department role is onsite at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY; compensation is $38.67–$51.92 per hour. The nurse supports the August Family Birth Place, which provides obstetric and gynecological services and family-centered care. The nurse assesses and treats patients presenting to the OB Emergency Department, manages scheduled iron infusions, and develops and documents individualized plans of care. When the OB ED is not busy, the nurse is expected to assist other team members with tasks such as vital signs, assessments, and medication passes.

What you'll do

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered clinical care
• perform initial and ongoing patient assessments
• communicate and document assessments with the interdisciplinary team
• develop, document, and revise individualized plans of care
• follow safety, medication-administration, and documentation policies
• complete a clinical research utilization form and required continuing education
• maintain Basic Life Support certification
• manage scheduled iron infusions and patients presenting for OB ED triage and treatment
• assist team members with tasks when the OB ED is not busy.

Why this role
