The Toolmaker Apprentice role is onsite in Latrobe, PA. Compensation is not specified. Classic Industries Inc. supports production of molded plastic parts through its tool and die work. Under the supervision of the Tool Shop Manager or lead toolmakers, the apprentice develops toolmaking skills through a four-year U.S. Department of Labor-approved apprenticeship while maintaining and repairing molds. The work supports reliable tooling and production of acceptable molded parts.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot assigned molds and recommend solutions
• set up and operate tool-room and measuring equipment to close tolerances
• read mold drawings and sketches for repairs or modifications
• clean and rework molds
• perform tooling changeovers according to production needs
• maintain mold activity and time records
• report project results and keep project files current
• fulfill apprenticeship program requirements.
