Staff Accountant, Trade Deductions

Job overview

The Staff Accountant, Trade Deductions role is hybrid, with work from Spindrift’s Newton, MA office at least four days a week. The annual salary range is $65,000 to $75,000. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the accountant researches, validates, and resolves customer deductions to support accurate financial records and timely close processes. The role works across Accounting, Sales, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to reconcile deductions, maintain controls, and improve workflows.

What you'll do

• Research and validate customer deductions
• classify deductions and apply appropriate accounting treatment
• post approved credit memos and maintain audit trails
• dispute unsupported deductions
• prepare accruals and reconcile deductions
• reconcile bottle deposits and broker commissions
• prepare aging schedules and reports
• support audits
• improve workflows and maintain procedures.
