Large Shapes Specialist (Casting)

The Large Shapes Specialist (Casting) role is onsite in Cortland, NY, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Compensation is $21–$31 per hour. The role supports Pyrotek’s production of refractory shapes and engineered materials. The specialist prepares, mixes, casts, fires, and finishes refractory shapes, following work orders and specifications to produce quality products on schedule. The work includes inspecting molds and finished shapes and safely operating industrial vehicles and casting equipment.

What you'll do

• Determine required raw materials, supplies, tools, and equipment
• inspect and measure molds
• assess raw-material quality
• measure and mix ingredients to prescribed recipes
• cast refractory using casting equipment
• perform grinding and finishing quality-control procedures
• inspect finished shapes
• safely operate cranes, forklifts, and electric pallet jacks.
