The Senior Information Systems Security Officer role is onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD; compensation is not specified. The ISSO leads cybersecurity across assigned systems’ lifecycles, from design and Risk Management Framework implementation through authorization, continuous monitoring, and sustainment. The role helps keep classified systems secure, compliant, and operationally ready by managing risk, guiding remediation, and integrating security into system architecture and operations.

What you'll do

• Manage daily information-system security operations and compliance with DoD and Intelligence Community policies
• conduct vulnerability and risk assessments
• administer security configuration control
• create and maintain system security plans, risk assessment reports, POA&Ms, accreditation packages, and traceability matrices
• lead system authorization under DoD RMF and legacy NISCAP standards
• maintain security solutions for classified environments
• use security tools such as ACAS and Nessus
• advise on security controls and countermeasures
• collaborate with administrators, engineers, and program leadership.

Why this role

Requires an active TS/SCI clearance with appropriate polygraph, 12 or more years of cybersecurity or systems security experience, and 10 or more years of ISSO or equivalent experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community programs. A bachelor’s degree or four additional years of relevant experience is required; DoD 8140.03 IAM Level II or IAT Level III certification is specified.
