What you'll do
- Clean, decontaminate, disinfect, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
- inspect instruments for cleanliness, function, damage, and operation
- assemble instrument sets and procedure trays
- operate sterilizers, washers, and ultrasonic cleaners
- monitor and document sterilization cycles and indicators
- label, store, and distribute sterile supplies
- respond to urgent instrument requests
- report damaged, missing, contaminated, or malfunctioning equipment
- maintain processing records and a clean, safe work area
- follow infection-prevention, safety, OSHA, AAMI, and facility procedures
- collaborate with surgical and clinical staff
- assist with inventory and protect patient confidentiality.
