Special Olympics Specialist Direct Support Professional

The Special Olympics Specialist Direct Support Professional role is onsite in Saco, ME, with a Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. schedule and occasional weekends for special events. Pay is $19.75 per hour. Creative Works’ Community Services Day Program provides community-based daytime activities for adults with disabilities and autism. The role delivers the program’s Special Olympics curriculum to support participants’ personal growth, self-esteem, confidence, and independence. It plans and directs events and practices while coordinating with participants, guardians, case managers, and the team.

What you'll do

• Create and implement the Special Olympics events calendar and practice schedule
• prepare and direct community events
• advocate for assigned participants and attend meetings
• assist with personal care and transportation as needed
• maintain participant records and medical forms
• coordinate with guardians, case managers, and team members
• ensure staff training is current
• build community relationships to secure practice space.
