Cisco Network Technician

Job overview

The Cisco Network Technician role is onsite in Lincoln, NE. The stated rate is $40–$43 per hour. Standard hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; after-hours work and overnight stays may be required. The role installs Edge networking equipment across Nebraska and assists state network engineers with existing infrastructure. The technician installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots network equipment, coordinates projects across agencies, and supports network upgrades and disaster recovery. The work helps maintain reliable Edge network infrastructure and provides technical support to clients and information technology employees.

What you'll do

• Install Edge networking devices across Nebraska
• provide intermediate technical support for installation, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of Edge network hardware
• coordinate network projects across agencies, including installations and decommissioning
• evaluate systems for patches and upgrades and analyze future technical needs
• maintain procedures and documentation
• assist clients and IT employees
• work with network engineers, vendors, and stakeholders. After-hours work and overnight stays may be required.
