Aquatic Instructor

The Aquatic Instructor is an onsite, part-time role in Barrington, RI, with variable hours and schedules; pay is $18 per hour. The instructor supports the YMCA’s community mission through swimming instruction and youth development.

What you'll do

• Prepare lesson plans and teach swimming lessons according to YMCA guidelines
• build relationships with students and parents
• share information about aquatics programs and schedules
• maintain attendance and progress records
• attend scheduled meetings and training
• follow safety and emergency procedures
• organize class equipment
• and train and supervise class aides when assigned. Training is provided, and the role requires YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent, along with specified CPR, AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen certifications.
