Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)

The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) role is full-time and based in Mooresville, North Carolina; the posting allows office work or a hybrid arrangement with three onsite days. Compensation is not specified. The ISSO reports to the Digital Technology Manager at MSI Defense Solutions and supports classified and unclassified information systems. The ISSO leads cybersecurity compliance and operational integrity across the system lifecycle. The role maintains security documentation and authorization packages, supports assessments and continuous monitoring, coordinates vulnerability remediation and incident response, and works with internal teams and government customers to safeguard sensitive information.

What you'll do

• Maintain compliance with DoD RMF, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, and applicable policies
• develop and update SSPs, POA&Ms, SARs, and RMF documentation
• support ATO, ATC, and continuous monitoring
• conduct vulnerability assessments and audits
• coordinate scanning, patch management, and incident response
• administer access controls
• prepare for audits and assessments
• collaborate across IT, Engineering, and Program teams
• report compliance status to leadership.

Why this role

U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance are required. Normal hours are Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.; additional hours may be needed for project requirements and deadlines.
