The Technology Engineering Designer – Telecommunications role is onsite in Horseheads, NY, with a salary of $50,000–$70,000 per year. The designer plans and develops communication network designs and project documents for clients in school, municipal, healthcare, housing, and higher-education markets. The role coordinates with engineers and other staff, conducts field reviews, and provides on-site assistance during construction and start-ups.

What you'll do

• Gather project scope, budget, schedule, and client expectations
• communicate scope and design changes
• coordinate design criteria with engineering team members
• plan and design backbone distribution, cable pathways, audiovisual, and telecommunications drawings using CAD
• conduct field reviews and surveys
• interpret architectural drawings and construction documents
• provide on-site construction and start-up assistance
• guide a draftsperson or team member
• create installation documents from vendor drawings and submittals.
