The position includes cross-training across several perioperative areas and rotating call coverage.

• Assess patients’ physical and psychological readiness for surgery
• collect histories, vital signs, and other data
• prepare and educate patients
• establish nursing diagnoses and goals
• plan and implement interventions with healthcare professionals
• evaluate responses and adjust care plans
• delegate and supervise interventions as appropriate
• educate patients, families, and colleagues
• maintain a safe care environment
• and complete required paperwork and consent forms.
