The Tax Associate, Energy & Infrastructure role is onsite in Washington, DC or New York, NY. Compensation is $260,000–$435,000 per year. The role supports an Energy & Infrastructure practice advising clients on transactions across U.S. power and energy transition sectors. The associate provides federal tax counsel on renewable energy and infrastructure projects and energy-related mergers and acquisitions. The work includes advising on tax credits and tax equity financing, drafting and reviewing transaction documents, applying partnership tax rules, and collaborating with project finance, corporate, and regulatory lawyers.

What you'll do

• Advise on renewable energy tax credits, including ITC, PTC, and 45Q, for wind, solar, and carbon capture projects
• structure and negotiate tax equity financing for sponsors and investors
• draft and review tax provisions in partnership agreements, credit agreements, and transactional documents
• advise on energy-sector M&A
• interpret partnership tax rules and federal tax regulations
• collaborate with project finance, corporate, and regulatory lawyers.
